Willis Family Bridge
Cross over one of Fort Wayne’s most unique architectural structures, the Willis Family Bridge. The bridge, which spans Crescent Avenue, allows those living in Student Housing to make the trek on foot or by bike to IPFW’s main campus. Only one other bridge in the United States (in Frankfort, Illinois) has a similar design. The bridge’s 246-foot length required a center support, and a pylon with cables (the triangular structure) was designed for this purpose. A complementary bridge on the west side of campus spans the St. Joseph River and connects the main campus to the Hefner Soccer Fields and the Holiday Inn at IPFW and the Coliseum.
